Lemmon Valley 10-19-24

Once again, Pigs came to show Deodar Way some love. This little dirt road always needs it.

Locals Holly, Brian, and O’Shea were joined by Dave from Fallon, plus Phil, Bill, and Mark from Dayton. With this handfull of assorted Pigs, we were able to fill up two trailers with approximately 10 yards of trash.

On his way home from the cleanup, O’Shea stopped in Cold Springs to take a look at the Hailey Nieto memorial site, where he discovered a new large pile had been dumped. When we come back to grab this, we will make sure to dig and find a name or two of people about to be made famous for the wrong reasons.

Running our mouths after tarping the trailers, we came to the conclusion that North Valleys needs more Pig attention. We decided to schedule runs every month.

Since the Stead Transfer Station has become too expensive to use, and both trailers had to go back that direction anyway, Dave and Phil hauled the trash to the Dayton Transfer Station. Ironically, from there, the trash will eventually be hauled back north to its final resting place at Lockwood Landfill, not to far from where we picked it up. This means it will travel 90 miles to end up close to where it was illegally dumped!

Meanwhile, back in Mound House, Ron made another solo run to fill up his bed at the massive dump there. We will resume cleaning that spot on November 1.

Next Week: Fernley
