Without even scouting it out ahead of time, we scheduled our Mound House cleanup for this morning, under the assumption there would be stuff to clean in the usual spots. Of course, the dip off Cash Dr. had a bunch of trash and tires. We picked that all up, then headed down the dirt road to find stuff to top off our trailers.
We turned into Newman to check out around some RV’s, then we were shocked at the scene we found. Trash, clothes, TV’s, computers, and more were scattered everywhere. There were giant bags of empty fuel cans. We even saw little huts carved into the sides of a pit that was filled with more trash. We haven’t seen something this bad in a long time!
Due to the scale of the dump and some of the contents we found, we decided to involve LCSO. Deputies arrived on the scene and quickly found names in the trash of people they knew. They then had what they needed to look for a person of interest. We wish them luck!
Meanwhile, we have a HUGE mess to grab. It will take more than 2 trailers. It’ll also require some shopping, since we will need some extra PPE gear for this one. If you would like to help, please consider making a tax deductible donation.
